a model to assess maturity in contemporary software quality
Software Quality maturity can be measured using various internationally recognised methodologies and standards. Whilst comprehensive as a collection, in isolation none of the existing software quality models provide a single solution to measure quality in contemporary software delivery. The TestOps Maturity Model solves this problem.
The TestOps Maturity Model
- an expanded model incorporating the ‘best of breed’ from current globally accepted software quality models
- focused on measuring maturity independent of specific implementation technologies.
- applicable to any work stream or domain where software quality needs to be measured and validated
The TestOps Maturity Model Categories
Maturity is measured across 16 Maturity Categories to provide a complete view across all areas of Quality Assurance.
The TestOps Maturity Model Metrics
A total of 97 Maturity Metrics are captured across the 16 Maturity Categories through a combination of interviews, observations and analysis.
The TestOps Maturity Model Maturity Levels
Each Maturity Metric is assessed and assigned a Maturity Level between 0 – 13, which when combined together provide a global view of Quality Assurance maturity.
Mapping Maturity
The TestOps Maturity Model can be mapped to traditional maturity models for comparison and validation.
- TPI and TPI NEXT (Test Process Improvement)
- TMMI (Test Maturity Model Integration)
- TMAP (Test Management approach)
- ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 (Software and systems engineering)
Growing Maturity with TestOps
The TestOps Maturity Mode is complimented by the Framework to provide a way of working to establish and grow maturity in Quality Assurance.
